Our featured artist of the month is Taylor Fabian. Taylor has always loved drawing portraits and drawing celebrities and major historical icons that have made an impact in her life. Last year she took AP Studio Art 2-D Design and learned a lot from that class that she is implementing now taking it again as a senior but now with a Drawing and Painting portfolio. Taylor states, “For my portfolio this year I wanted to showcase my strengths and give my all in this portfolio and really create something that I’m proud of. This year my portfolio is based off women who have made a lasting impact in society and overall in my life. Some women I’ve painted so far are RBG (pictured), Katherine Johsnon, Olga E. Custodio, Marsha P. Johnson, and Shirley Chisholm. I want to give these women a light because it’s very important for young girls to have these role models and strive for greatness. After high school I plan on going into Flight School which is a male dominated field but knowing that other women have gone through worse and have achieved greatness gives me peace that I can achieve that for myself.”
