On October 28th, 2025, the Oak Lawn Community High School ancora choir visited Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The students arrived in the morning where they were given a brief tour of the very large campus, admiring the up-close view of Lake Michigan and the oaks scattered throughout campus .
Sophomore Emma Mulcahy said, “It was actually such a beautiful campus. I genuinely think it’s one of the colleges I’ll be applying to because of how they described their courses.”
After their tour, the students attended a clinic where they met a choir professional who taught them the song Locus Iste by Anton Bruckner.
They then had a lunch break before it was time for them to perform their song in the Cathedral in front of other high school choirs, such as the Richards and Reavis choirs.
Afterwards, they boarded the bus back to OLCHS, concluding a fun and educational experience they will never forget.
