Six guys, one title; The Ultimate Spartan. Contestants: Liam Blake, Vinnie Caprio, Alexander Kenny, Miles O’Brien, Lucas Palacios, and Jorge Ramirez, went head to head against each other in various categories. These categories include: formal wear, interviews, beachwear, talent, and having to win over the crowd. The best category and most entertaining to watch was definitely the talent portion. Each performance captured the true essence of what it meant to be an Ultimate Spartan. All contestants truly showed that they were athletic, book smart, and had amusing talents. Each contestant had to leave the audience laughing. Unfortunately, only one could come out on top. The winner of the 2016 Ultimate Spartan was Liam Blake! When Liam was asked what it was like to participate in this event, he answered,“I felt that the event was great for everyone. We put a lot of hard work and it feels great for it to pay off. Everyone really put everything they had into it and it was very entertaining for everyone! I had a lot of fun and so did everyone else!”

Overall, everyone had a fantastic time. Laughs were shared and memories were made. The softball program made $1,100 to put toward the team this season. Coach Frangella claimed that this was year was the best competition out of the four previous ones that he has seen. Frangella also claimed that his favorite part about this event was seeing the students in a different environment rather than just a school environment. A special thanks goes out to all those who participated and made this such an enjoyable night. Can’t wait until next year!
