2015-2016 Boys Track & Field Team

The OLCHS Boys’ Track and Field Team embarked on their new 2016 season on January 19 to an auspicious beginning with new faces and old ones alike joining the team.

The Boys’ Track Team consists of a plethora of events centering three rudimentary types of events: sprints, distance, and field events. Track athletes train during the season to perfect their performance in their particular events for meets and invitationals.

Regardless of the common perception that Track and Field is entirely an independent sport, it is in every aspect a team effort in competitions, as the school with the highest number of cumulative points wins a meet. It is the duty of every track athlete to do demonstrate their very best in their events to ensure the maximum number of points toward the team’s score.

OLCHS’s track team’s philosophy travails to create athletes that are competitive, strong in character, and embody Spartan Pride. Track athletes are champions on and off the field.

This season’s coaches include: Mr. Jeremy Cryan (Head), Mr. Christopher Repa, Mr. Nick Pesek, Mr. Jeff Rupp, and Mr. Adam Probst.

The track team will be distributing uniforms on Febuary 10, and it will see its first meet at the Hinsdale Central Invite on Febuary 12.

New athletes are always welcome and more so in these early days of the season.

And remember. Commit to the team, commit to yourself, and commit to the win—#commit3.
