This year’s Pepsi LIII Super Bowl halftime show was performed by Maroon 5, but joining the group onstage were Travis Scott and Big Boi. The Super Bowl took place in Atlanta with high hopes of another good halftime show. Many reviews say this year’s halftime show wasn’t the best compared to previous years.

Maroon 5 performed some of their well known hits, such as “Harder to Breathe”, “Girls Like You”, “Sugar”, “Moves Like Jagger”, and “She Will Be Loved”. If you didn’t know, the Maroon 5 band consists of Adam Levine, PJ Morton, Matt Flynn, Sam Farrar, Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, and Mickey Madden.

While they were performing many interesting things happened. For example Adam Levine managed to go from having a coat on to completely shirtless which many people either loved it or hated it. Later, Travis Scott was introduced by a clip from Spongebob SquarePants along with a cartoon-meteor crash. The SpongeBob segment was dedicated to SpongeBob creator, Stephen Hillenburg, who died in November of 2018.

After the short segment Travis Scott came out surrounded by flames rapping his hit single “Sicko Mode.” After Travis Scott, Big Boi came out in a fur coat, performing “The Way You Move.”

Although the expectations were relatively low for Maroon 5, many brands were trying to make an appearance onto your TV. For a company to advertise their brand it was an average of 5.25 million U.S. dollars for a 30-second advertisement. Big branded names such as Amazon which promoted their voice assistant Alexa, Audi showcasing their car range E-Tron, Bubly introducing itself as a new product of Pepsi using Canadian singer Michael Bublé, along with many other brands making an appearance on your TV. These brands payed lots of money to be promoted during one of the most watched sporting event.

Overall many commercials seemed to be better than the Halftime show.
