Singing Into The Holiday Season

Melanie Schlesser, Staff Writer

The Winter Fine Arts Festival is a celebration of the artistic arts. The choir and band programs played festive, holiday music beside displays of artwork done by the students in different classes. Various styles of music filled the air as audiences listened and took pictures of these talented kids. The guitar ensembles played classics that shout Winter! Followed by a mixture of new hymns and classics with a twist. Among the twists were a mashup of “When The Saints Go Marching In,” “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” by Chorale, and “We Wish You A Mambo Christmas” performed by the Wind Ensemble.

When asked about how he felt about the concert, choir director Mr. Baglione said that “all of the ensembles performed very well and really helped kick off the holiday season.”

All in all, it was a great concert filled with festive spirits as the holidays, and break, loom closer. Here’s to a fabulous break and an even better 2017 for the music and art departments!
