Crispy autumn leaves, pumpkin spice everything, and our favorite 2000’s tv show Gilmore Girls, all are the epitome of fall. On top of that, fall brings out the best fashion trends on the year ranging from colors to fabrics that complement our style as well as the autumn season. This fall I hope to see more people step out of their comfort zone and try alternative clothing options. Today we’ll be discussing what colors are in this year, along with what materials you’ll be seeing a lot of this upcoming fall.
My fashion prediction for fall is seeing more people experiment with darker colors including, cherry red, navy blue, and plum. These solid dark colors are perfect alternatives if you like dark greys, blacks, and other colors that are considered bland. If darker colors aren’t for you then I would look for clothes that have beiges, heather grey and olive green. The reason why colors are so important is because it sets the aesthetic that you want to give off. By choosing dark colors for your fall wardrobe you would be going for more of a dark academia look, while choosing more of the lighter colors will flatter a person if they want to give off more of a casual clean look. Worrying about colors seems unnecessary but it’s not talked about enough how much it can change your appearance and honestly it can change the way you feel.
Now let’s look at what will be making a comeback in the following weeks. Leather, although not the most convenient material, is going to be in again this fall but not as jackets as we’ve seen in the past. Going along with our fall color pallet, I noticed many designers such as Steve Madden and Vince Camuto are dabbling in cherry red leather boots this season. By making those boots your staple piece with any outfit of your choosing, whether that be with an outfit from Zara’s fall collection or a thrifted outfit, it will spice up anything. Speaking of shoes, something that is on everyone’s wish list is a pair of Uggs. Uggs range from boots, to slippers and slides. Now when I tell you that you can wear these with anything I mean it. Pair them with leggings for a casual look. Going out wearing jeans and need a fall shoe? Uggs is the answer. Do you want to wear lounge wear but need to run a couple of errands? Uggs! I mean do I even have to explain myself further. Shoes in general are completely overlooked and people forget how much of an impact it can make on your outfit.
When it comes to fashion or clothes, it’s important to note that it’s not so “This or that”. The possiblities are endless and that’s what I love about the fashion industry. There is always something new that captivates society every year then suddenly that becomes the unspoken agreement that everyone buys and obsesses over until the next thing comes out. It truly is a never ending cycle that keeps us at the edge of our seats. So whatever color scheme you go for this year or whatever pair of shoes you buy next, keep in mind that the little things aren’t really that little, they make a huge impact and you don’t even know it.
