The Chicago Bears were the favorite in their first game in Soldier Field versus the Green Bay Packers with only a one and a half point spread. The Packers have recently traded quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which led many Bears fans to be extremely excited to see how this season would play out. Even though the Bears lost the season opener, fans are optimistic.
The Bears made some interesting decisions with the 2023 NFL Draft, and some are even saying this is the best draft since 1983. This leads us to the real question: How will the Bears actually perform this season? Students and staff at OLCHS shared their thoughts about the upcoming season.
Mr. Frangella hopes to see 9 wins this season from the Bears. He believes they did a good job stockpiling lots of talent on this year’s roster. Mr. Frangella recently drafted Justin Fields in his fantasy football league and thinks he will do much better this year than the years previous.
Mr. Sefcik, who is not a Bears fan, predicts they will not make the playoffs but believes they still have room to improve and that Justin Fields could be a top 5 quarterback this season.
John Olejniczak, a sophomore here at OLCHS, predicts the Bears will end the season with a score of 12 and 5. Olejniczak hopes to see the Bears move to Arlington, since traveling to the stadium will be much more simple and efficient. He believes that Justin Fields will perform extremely well and says this could possibly be Fields’ MVP season.
Mr. Zwirkoski liked the Bears’ draft picks and thinks it is a solid draft. He predicts the Bears will end the season with a final score of 9 and 8. Zwirkoski is in favor of the Bears moving to Arlington and sees no benefits of staying in Chicago. Zwirkoski thinks that Jusin Fields is going to play very well this year and expects to see him in the top 3 of quarterbacks in the NFL.
Mr. Habas believes that Justin Fields is going to show slow improvement this NFL season, and also hopes for the Bears to stay in Chicago at Soldier FIield, saying something about it feels nostalgic.
Mr. Panka predicts that the Bears will continue to improve this season and hopes to see 10 wins. Panka is also a season ticket holder and hopes for the Bears to move to Arlington to make things much easier for travel, parking, etc.
I hope the draft picks help the Bears in the longrun. I also hope to see them beat the Packers next time and ultimately make it to the playoffs. Let’s Go Bears.
