Planning Your Future; Upcoming College and Career Fair

Deciding what you want to do after high school can be scary. With so many different paths to choose from, it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed about which option to pick. A lot of people need help figuring out their college major, which college they want to go to, or whether or not they want to go to college at all. Many students have no desire to go to college, but feel obligated to do so because they lack information about alternatives that are more suitable for them. Other students may know that they want to go to college, but cannot decide what they want to major in or which college they want to go to. Well, all of these problems can be solved (or assisted) at this year’s College and Career Fair.
Each year, OLCHS hosts a College and Career fair to help students prepare for the next chapter of their lives after high school. The event is this Wednesday, September 14th, from 6:00-7:30pm in the Student Cafeteria. Mrs. Kenny organizes this event; she is the school’s College and Career Counselor, and is great to go to with any questions regarding this event or concerns about your future. Families can accompany students to the fair to meet with potential employers, military reps, college reps, and union tradespeople. Because of the wide variety of career options displayed at the fair, students can start to feel a weight being lifted off of their shoulders as they realize there are plenty of options and opportunities for them to explore after graduation. It’s never too early or too late to start thinking about life after high school, which is why the fair is open to all grade levels. Whether you’re a freshman looking for academic inspiration or a senior hoping to solidify your future career, the fair is a perfect place to find the help you’re looking for.
