Golf Teams finishes a strong season.
When going into any season the goal for any team is to finish top three in the conference. For both the boys and girls golf team at Oak Lawn Community High School, this mission was accomplished as they each finished third in the South Suburban Conference Meet.
The boys were led by All-Conference golfer Bobby Crosby. This was the second time in his high school career that he earned this honor. Other strong performances came from Dillion Siert, Luke Fritz, Domas Rasymas, and Colin Duggan.
The boys finished 10-5 on the season, and the junior varsity team was 9-5.
“I was very impressed with the team’s consistency,” head coach Pat Mayer said. “We had a large roster, and I would say every golfer improved this season.”
The girls team had an impressive year too. They finished third, shooting 426 as a team. They even earned the team Sportsmanship Award for the SSC Red.
“This was the first year as an official girl’s golf team and I could not have asked for a better group of girls, they were great, and improved tremendously over the season,” said head coach Kate Mellone.
The JV team was second of three teams, scoring 496.5. Katie Casey was fifth, Jacky Canales was sixth and Rocky Enriquez finished ninth.
