Beginning Senior Year Virtually

Sarah Driscoll

The beginning of my senior year was a bit peculiar, but nonetheless, one filled with support from my teachers. Before summer ended, I’m really glad I was able to do band camp with my friends; band is one of my favorite activities and I’ve been playing alto saxophone since 5th grade. As of right now, we are planning on performing the show in the Spring, and as a back-up, producing recordings. Our show tunes consist of “Know Your Enemy” by Green Day, “Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy”, and “High Hopes” by Panic! At the Disco. I am hopeful that by the Spring, my friends and I will be able to perform for one last marching band season. While I, like most students, would prefer to be in school, e-learning still has it’s advantages. For example, the shorter days allow for more time to study and complete homework. I also work part-time at Andy’s Frozen Custard, and if I were learning in school I wouldn’t have the time available to work during the week. However, I do hope that everyone is able to return to school again soon as I miss playing with all my friends in band, seeing them at lunch and in classes everyday, and seeing my favorite teachers like Mr. Doyle. If you’re reading this now Mr. Doyle, the Oak Lawn graduates and current students that I work with have said that they miss you and hope you’re doing well.
