Landen Lands in London

Landen Boyd, a current junior attending OLCHS, received the opportunity to go on a very memorable and educational trip to London this prior month. Landen is part of an engineering program called the National Society of Black Engineers or the NSBE which operates at Chicago State University.

In this program he works with other brilliant and inspiring young minds to interact and program rc-cars to do various actions. Landen and his team compete with other engineering programs throughout different regions of the United States, and for three consecutive years the NSBE has managed to come in first place throughout the nation, a truly remarkable accomplishment. Thus due to their experience and outstanding reputation, the head of the program bought tickets for his whole group to attend a science fair in London.

From October 27th to the 29th, Landen and his team were able to showcase their admirable skills at coding to many interested individuals at Mozfest. With their incredible coding, they received the opportunity to showed off their skills by giving a demonstration of an rc-car parallel parking, a hard task for many drivers. Along with this, Landon and his team got to tour London and explore the world renown city, a minuscule reward for their monumental achievements!
