Tame Impala: Our Generation’s Psychedelic
Tame Impala’s newest album, “Currents” released in the summer of 2015 and it’s still widely considered their best work. The album opens with “Let It Happen,” a hypnotic fusion of keyboards and mesmerizing vocals. This contrasts to the slower rhythm of songs like “Yes I’m Changing” and “‘Cause I’m a Man” while maintaining a constant flow of a psychedelic feel throughout the album. Kevin Parker, the foundation of the band, brings back 70s psychedelic and 80s pop influences yet still creating a modern pop sound. The band mimics the sound of Pink Floyd and attracts a younger audience, which is why “Currents” is a staple album for any listener.
