On Saturday,August 28,the NASCAR Xfinity Series raced at Daytona International Speedway,the second race at Daytona for the 2021 season. Justin Haley (left) won in a photo finish against A.J Allmendinger (middle) and Jeb Burton (right). The margin of victory came to 23 thousandths of a second (.023) giving Haley his second Xfinity win at Daytona. Haley won this race in 2020 aswell,and has now gone back to back here. Haley and his teammates were up front much of the day,however another team,JR Motorsports,was also running well. Noah Gragson(third car in the middle lane), Justin Allgaier (second car in the middle lane),and Sam Mayer (fourth car in the right lane) all ran up front and took the lead at some point. However,Justin Haley didnt make the winning pass until the last lap,as Allmendinger was actually up front beforehand. It took some intense racing from all three Kaulig cars to make this finish) Allmendinger led the most laps of all drivers (29 out of 100) Haley said after the race “I was trying to formulate a plan there and obviously there were team orders. Hats off to Kaulig Racing. I think we’ve got the teammate thing down. It’s just so special to win here at Daytona.” Also,while it may look as Burton finished 3rd,based on the picture,Allgaier actually was credited with 3rd place over Burton.
