This year the girls’ varsity golf team has had an amazing season with conference looming in the horizon. With four members on the team: Kayla Corbet, Kendallyn Julkowski, Lauren Burke, and last but not least Alexia Stang. Returning for her second season is Kayla Corbet, while Kendallyn, Lauren, and Alexia are first time players. Each player has improved through hard work and a little bit of luck throughout the course of the season. The hard work and help of Coach Mayer and Coach Malone doesn’t go unnoticed. Each girl is steadily improving and learning how to make the best of each swing. The golf team very own Lauren Burke has this to comment “I think it has been going pretty good we have learned a lot and practices are fun and it is a great time”

With conference just a week away, all of the girls are very excited! Next Tuesday, they will each be golfing a full eighteen holes against the other girls in their conference.  With nearly two months of practice, at Stony Creek Golf Course, under their belts the varsity golf teams feels very prepared. Lauren Burke had this to say about it, “I think we will do pretty well, we have improved a lot and I’m sure we will do great”. With three new players this year the girls varsity golf team are definitely underdogs but we’re all excited to see how conference goes.  Spartans wish the girls the best of luck at conference!
