As the rest of the student body was getting ready for the Thanksgiving Break, the boys varsity basketball team was preparing for the annual Spartan-Ram Classic. However, not only was it the start of the tournament, but the official start of a very exciting 2017-2018 season. On Monday, the Spartans faced Morgan Park Academy and put on a show for the fans in the stands. The Spartans won 93-16, and were led by Adem Osmani and Bryan Beattie who both put up double doubles! What a great start! On Wednesday, the Spartans won against Bremen 75-51. They were led by the Osmani bothers who both contributed 24 points apiece. On Friday, the Spartans went head to head in a very intense game against Sandburg. They battled back from an 11-3 1st quarter deficit to beat Sandburg. It was a great team win with four of their players putting up double figures! With that win, the Spartans advanced to the championship game versus Saint Laurence. Although they played hard, St. Laurence won the championship, putting the Spartans in second. However, with a start like that, the student body is excited to see more great games and hopefully more wins just like these! Go Spartans!
