On November 11th of 2017 the girls swim and dive team went to sectionals just after their big championship win at Evergreen High School during the South Suburban Conference (SSC). Sectionals was hosted by Lyons Township High School where in Oak Lawn competed against the following schools: Richards, Mother McCauley, Reavis, Hubbard High School, Evergreen, and more.

Oak Lawn’s Lady Spartans went all out when competing in sectionals this year. They placed 6th place in two relays, the 200 medley relay race and the 200 meter freestyle relay. For the 200 medley relay they broke the school record by a shocking 1 minute. The girls in this competition included Ellie Featherstone, Zeren Cebi, Lexi Zurita and Claire Esguerra and the new School record is a Time Of 1:47:81.
