Say It’s Alright

“Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo). Here comes the sun, and I say, ‘It’s all right’” –The Beatles.

Happiness is defined as a feeling or showing pleasure or contentment, and some people believe that feelings of overwhelming happiness or sadness cannot be controlled, but it’s important to know that everyone does have control over their own feelings.

It’s important to know that you can create your own happiness. Often times, people depend on materialistic items or their friends or family to make them happy, when the truth is happiness is a choice and it starts with you and what you do.

You wake up in the morning and you prepare yourself for the day that you want to have. If you wake up thinking “I’m having a bad morning, I’m going to have a bad day,” more than likely, your day is going to turn out worse than you expect.

On the contrary if you wake up thinking, “Today is going to be a good day,” your day will probably turn out for the better.

One thing you should do for yourself is proudly wear a smile, as that is scientifically proven to make you feel happy, regardless of what the state of your day has been.

Don’t let yourself down because no one can look out for you like you can for yourself. When I’m down, the best thing for me to do is listen to some songs that inspire me, or as I call them “Pick me up” songs.

A few “Pick me up” songs come a long way too. A few of mine include, “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles, “On the Brightside” by NeverShoutNever, “My girl” by The Temptations, and “Pocket Full of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield.

Those are only a few of my personal “Pick me up” songs, but they never fail to cheer me up. Next time you’re feeling down, put on a smile, and listen to your favorite songs, and it’ll be a sure way to make you feel at least a little bit better about your current state.
